The Best Playgrounds in Hull and Beverley Ranked by Kids
We recruited a panel of highly qualified playground testers — 15 children aged 4 to 11 — and asked them to rate the best playgrounds across Hull and Beverley. Here are the results.
1. East Park, Hull (Rating: 10/10)
The undisputed champion. East Park's adventure playground has everything — zip lines, climbing frames, swings for every age, a splash pad (summer only), and acres of space to run around. Our junior testers gave it a unanimous 10/10.
Best bit: "The zip line is SO fast!" — Olivia, age 7
2. Beverley Westwood (Rating: 9/10)
Not a traditional playground, but the Westwood's wide open spaces, perfect for kite flying and football, combined with the nearby Beverley Racecourse playground, earned it second place.
Best bit: "You can see the cows and they're really friendly" — Jack, age 5
3. Pickering Park, Hull (Rating: 9/10)
Recently refurbished with new equipment, Pickering Park offers excellent facilities for all ages. The toddler area is particularly well-designed, and the cafe nearby is a bonus for parents.
Best bit: "The new climbing frame is massive!" — Sophie, age 9
4. Pearson Park, Hull (Rating: 8/10)
Hull's oldest park has a lovely playground set among mature trees. The water play area in summer is a huge draw, and there's a good mix of equipment for different ages.
Best bit: "I like the spinning thing" — Archie, age 6
5. Molescroft Playing Fields, Beverley (Rating: 8/10)
A well-maintained playground with modern equipment, including an excellent zip line. It's less busy than East Park, which is a big plus for parents of younger children.
Best bit: "There's never a queue for the swings" — Ava, age 8
