DadFest Returns to Bridlington: A Weekend of Fun for Fathers and Children

DadFest Weekend Overview

The beloved DadFest is making its way back to South Cliff Holiday Park in Bridlington this month, promising a weekend filled with fun and adventurous activities designed specifically for fathers and their children. Scheduled from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17, this unique festival aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for dads and father figures to bond with their children while reconnecting with nature.

A Festival Like No Other

Since its inception in 2014, DadFest has stood out as the only festival in the UK dedicated solely to fathers and their children. This year, the event will be packed with exciting activities that cater to children of all ages, including boys, girls, and non-binary kids, along with all types of father figuresβ€”dads, grandads, step-fathers, uncles, and more.

Activities include:

  • Campfire cooking
  • Archery
  • Children's entertainment
  • Bat walks
  • Star-gazing
  • Kids disco
  • Forest School
  • Arts & crafts
  • Storytelling
  • High ropes
  • Trampolines
  • Crazy golf
  • Beach trip with activities
  • Dad dancing and much more!

With the ticket purchase, attendees will have access to all activities, as well as camping and parking, eliminating any hidden costs. Food and drink options will be available on-site, or attendees can opt to bring their own camping stove to prepare meals.

A Focus on Safety and Fun

Ian Blackwell, the organiser of DadFest and founder of The Dads Network, shared his enthusiasm for this year’s event, stating, "We run the event because dads and children tell us how much they value getting back to nature, chilling-out, and spending quality time with each other and making new friends. DadFest is about having a weekend of fun with the children."

He also emphasised the importance of safety, saying, "I think it is important to reassure people that all the activities at DadFest are run by qualified, experienced leaders who are fully insured and all risk assessments are in place."

Community Engagement

The festival has garnered support from the local community and organisations, highlighting a collaborative effort to create memorable experiences for families in East Yorkshire. Justin Davies, General Manager of South Cliff Holiday Park, expressed excitement about hosting the event, stating that it provides an excellent opportunity for dads to connect with their children in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.
