P.T. Barnum Musical Starring Lee Mead Comes to Hull New Theatre
The hit musical "Barnum" starring Lee Mead will play at Hull New Theatre from 2-6 June 2026, it has been announced.
The production, based on the life of legendary showman P.T. Barnum, features spectacular circus acts, catchy songs, and a dazzling visual spectacle that has won rave reviews on its national tour.
About the Show
"Barnum" tells the story of Phineas Taylor Barnum, the American showman who created "The Greatest Show on Earth." The musical follows his journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most famous entertainers in history.
The show features:
- Live circus acts including tightrope walking, juggling, and trapeze
- Classic songs including "There is a Sucker Born Every Minute" and "Come Follow the Band"
- Stunning set design that transforms the theatre into a big top
Lee Mead
Lee Mead, who won BBC's "Any Dream Will Do" in 2007, stars in the title role. He has since become one of the UK's most popular musical theatre performers, with credits including "Wicked," "Legally Blonde," and the BBC series "Holby City."

Performances run from Monday 2 June to Saturday 6 June, with evening shows at 7:30pm and matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:30pm.
Tickets are priced from £18 to £48 and are available from the Hull New Theatre box office and online.
